CEO & Co-Founder
Frank H. Lau, MD, FACS
Dr. Lau is a surgeon-scientist and serial entrepreneur whose relevant experiences include:
- Bachelor’s of Science in Molecular Biochemistry & Biophysics in 3 years from Yale University
- Credit derivatives analyst at UBS Warburg
- M.D. with Research Honors from the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor (a top 10 medical school)
- Plastic Surgery residency at Harvard’s Combined Plastic Surgery Training Program
- Stem cell research fellowship at Harvard’s Simches Center for Regenerative Medicine
- During residency he co-founded Firecracker, a SaaS company that was acquired by international publishing house Wolters Kluwers Wolter
Dr. Lau’s career has centered on improving patient care through innovation at all stages of the clinical translational pipeline, from basic science through clinical trials. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his children, staying fit, and enjoying live music

Co-Founder
Jason Bourgeois, JD
Jason is the founder of IP Valuation Partners and has led revenue growth $10M annually over eight years. He holds a BS in biomedical engineering from Georgia Tech University and received his JD from Tulane University. Jason is an active private equity investor in technology and growth infrastructure.

CFO
AJ Kleffner
As an established financial leader, AJ has focused on empowering businesses to achieve the highest levels of performance, service, and profitability. AJ has led the acquisitional growth and successful sale of a post-acute pharmacy provider to a PE-backed strategic buyer, worked as a financial leader for a PE-owned portfolio of senior living properties, and most recently in 2020, co-founded a healthcare group purchasing organization that has rapidly grown to a national footprint. AJ graduated with a BS in Business & Accounting from the University of Oregon, and started his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers, earning his CPA and providing assurance and advisory services to publicly traded and private companies. Outside of the office, AJ enjoys golfing, skiing, and spending time with his wife and two children.

Senior Scientist
Elizabeth Martin, PhD
Dr. Martin serves as Assistant Professor of Biological Engineering at Louisiana State University. She holds a BS from Louisiana State University and a PhD from Tulane University. She is the recipient of multiple NIH grants focusing on breast cancer and has developed novel analytical techniques for studying the interplay between breast cancer and its microenvironment. Her diverse training in engineering, breast cancer, and regenerative medicine has led to her current passion – development of tumor models.

Scientist
Eran Brown, MS
Eran is a biomedical engineer with a background in spatial biology and multi-modality imaging. He earned a BS from Penn State University, and an MS from OHSU, both in Biomedical Engineering. Eran enjoys working in the biotech startup space to help develop, validate, and apply assays for several genomic, proteomic, and spatial biology platforms as well as building tools for standardized image analysis. His mission is to empower clinicians and researchers to deliver the most efficacious, cutting-edge cancer therapies resulting in better patient outcomes.

Scientist
Gabriela Rios-Sotelo
Gabriela Rios-Sotelo is a dedicated and multi-talented disease biologist who has made a significant impact in biotech and disease research fields. She received her Bachelor of Science from UC Berkeley in Molecular and Cell Biology. With a thirst for knowledge, Rios-Sotelo went on to receive a M.S. from San Francisco State University and a then a second M.S. at the University of Nevada, Reno both focusing on host-pathogen interactions of emerging pandemics. After a successful career in conservation biology and wildlife disease, Rios-Sotelo switched careers to biotech and has since worked in several startups. Her expertise in biology and conservation has been an invaluable asset in the biotech industry, where she has made significant contributions to the development of new technologies, such as novel assays for cancer therapeutics. Outside of work, Gabriela enjoys running local trails with her dog, Bandit.
